This is the best YouTube downloader I have tried so far. If you have trouble updating to the latest version, uninstall the app and re-install it. it provides fast and unbroken downloads for both videos and mp3s with a nice interface and search engine. You can even add different categories to the home screen--not only for your location, but also for other locations/countries. You can even add the channels you're interested in. You can also view your downloads according to quality, date, author or title. This is an excellent app, and the author is providing good and prompt support. One last note, It would be nice if it would offer an option to switch to dailymotion.com and other video sites as well.

Hyper is the best YT player on this store as of this writing and I purchased the Pro version. I like the interface a lot and like that it will play 1080p+ and Download content! The developer is very active and has improved the hitching sound problem in the latest update. Overall this is a great app and I hope the developer continues to support it. We need a proper YT app for Windows 8.1 and this one stands out. This app has moved up in the ranks and is now showing as one of the top 10 free apps on the store as it should.

I enjoy using the hyper app, it has some great features for example you can pin channels to the home screen and change the color of the hyper logo ! I would like to see the use of captions on the app ! Thank you!

Worth the buy. Everything in this app is what i wanted, it includes repeat options, download options, Easy to understand (even if the repeat option was not all that easy to find) its an app i use and bought since day one i got my windows 8 (even if i kinda hate Windows 8...) and i haven't stopped used since!

Pros: Good layout, good performance, seamlessly works with my account. Cons: Some videos won't play sometimes. Doesn't happen often though.

The app lets you try to download a video one time (which fails because finding where the settings are to configure the download folder is stupidly harder than it should be). After your first attempt, if you try to download anything else, it prompts you to uprade to the "HD" version (assuming this is the paid one). If you click "not now" it brings you back to the screen and you're stuck with no download. Wash, rinse, repeat... endless loop of useless on a trial app that it falsely advertised.

The sounds are still not playing in sync with the video. Additionally, found a new bug that it generates a 2 instance of every video regardless of section (New Subscriptions, Downloads, etc.). So it's annoying especially in Downloads that when I'm going to delete a video, there's 1 instance left but since the video is already deleted from the disk, it'll show me an error that it's not found. Again, it feels like the update is getting worse. Hopefully it'll be fixed before adding other and new features. Thanks.

This app is pretty nice, I don't normally buy full versions, but I wanted to use the downloading features so I did. I have not been disappointed, it makes watching and storing videos pretty easy. I do wish they had more options for video type when saving.... ..But still 5 stars

Nice app, adds features which I miss on YT web-page. Features I really like: - Temporary playlist "Now Playing" -Searching for videos, adding further videos to "Now playing", browsing subbox is all available while a video is playing (preview pops up top right). -Playing in background while being able to control the App with media buttons on keyboard, seeing what's being played with thumbnail and control buttons pop-up when volume-down/up is being pressed, pop-up sits at the right of the volume bar that pops up in Windows when volume is being changed. Missing features: replying to a comments (only "copy comment"/"user profile" buttons are available) Problems I still have: - Sometimes audio stops while video continuous, sometimes video stops while audio continuous. (temporary fix: reloading video by starting it again forwarding to time it stopped) - At menu bar which pops up when swiping up/right clicking the pop-ups that come up when pressing "Add to" or "Quality" instantly close

offline listening/viewing (mp3/various video res.) made functional in a great looking app. I came from different client and frankly am not looking back. Thanks for fabulous app! W10 FTW!

sometimes when I want to watch a video it says 'this video is not available' and I have to open it with a browser.

It has got all the best features and more than any free app gives on store. This app can play videos very smoothly, can download all quality videos and even mp3. And also keeps organized home. Its the best. You wont need any other app ever.

I have win 8.1 pro 64 bit and the app doesn't work. When I open the app it's closes directly.

Really a good YouTube app. It never gave me any Trouble

I went to play some videos today, and the thing says to go to youtube.com/deviecesupport which I did, only to find out that google updated their API on April 20th, and from what I gather the apps developer is using an outdated API.

easy to use, good ui but doesn't have videos that has viewed

This app is sooo easy, fast and user friendly.. I wanted a app to download music to my computer so to burn music CD's. It does that(very fast and EZ) and much more. It blocks AD's, the ones before it plays your video and doesn't change your selected video's after every play. All I can say is "THANK YOU HYPER"!!!!!!

Honestly, I must say this is must-have app you need to install for the very first time you get Windows 8.1. Because, there is nothing mistake and problem to watch and subscribe Youtube on Webpage switch to this one. a little thing I want you all fix it that is an issue when I need to see the moment I just desire. it's automatically shut down.

Fast and Good apps for viewing video from Youtube.

So far, so good. It does what it claimed to do, and I have not found anything to complain about. The app is fairly transparent, no surprises. Downloads are fast, and playback is good. It has my recommendation. I do not give it 5 stars, not because I have some hesitation, but because I cannot give 5 stars to any program that I have not used regularly for at least a year. Time will tell. But so far, I like it.
