As I big fan of TED, I am happy to see a great app from TED on Windows Ecosystem
28 March 2015
I love the talks they have. they really help me whenever I have a science project.

When I try to sign in through the app, it never completes the sign in, so I am not able to access my playlists and saved talks from the website. I would like to see this fixed so I can do nearly everything from the app and not have to go to the website. Other than that, the layout is nice and the videos are always great. Please fix the bugs with this app and it will get 5 stars for sure.

To all those who say there is no search bar, I want to inform them that the search function is integrated to the search charm from the charms bar in Windows 8.x. The app is really great.

With such an incredible multitude of TED talks it seems very unlogical to publish an app without a search function. Is it so hard to program? Or is there another reason I simply cannot fathom? And then I have a screen with 3200 x 2000 something pixels and you have videos with at least 720p - so why not let me choose what resolution I would like according to my internet connection/viewing preferences?
OK app but needs basic functions - like NEARLY ALL WINDOWS 8 apps. I wonder how come that all apps I am trying have these basic flaws...

Though there is an option to sign in, it does not work!
2 January 2015
Truly great app
15 December 2014
How are you supposed to use this with no search capability ? Why would you install an app with less functionality than the web version ?
10 December 2014
I like the app even if it is just a web wrapper but the main problem I have is the app does not retain the login data and there is no way to look at your playlists
3 November 2014
Bug.

This app is really great and inspiring, nonetheless it crashes sometimes leaving just the blanck background, and it doesn't have an actual search bar... if they would fix that then I'll give the 5 stars

TED is an excellent way to gain insight into important topics and continue to learn. The speeches are just amazing. Highly recommend this app.

I'm still using the old app I had called Talks because touchscreen support for this app when selecting videos barely works. But otherwise it's good.
Update- now selecting videos works, but after the video is done there is no way to exit except with a keyboard. Just a big white screen.

I've been a TED fan for years--glad this app is here
29 September 2014
I absolutely love watching TED Talks, so this app is a GREAT addition to my apps list! Very easy to use, super interesting!
29 September 2014
Great way to see the top TED talks!
29 September 2014
Easy to browse and search! The only thing it needs to be perfect is a queue to watch the talks later.
26 September 2014
This is an excellent UI, easy to find articles/videos of things that are of interest to me.
24 September 2014
After binge watching Weeds on Netflix and deciding it was good but not worth the hours I spent watching it, I moved to watching TED shows. These are thoughtful, compelling stories. I just love them! Great apps too! Thanks for the updates.
23 September 2014
Very inspiring stuff.
19 September 2014
Some of the best content on the web - this new version is much better
18 September 2014
But please make this and window's phone version more than a web wrapper
10 September 2014
For someone who has enjoyed TED Talks for some time, this app provides no more and no less than is needed.
5 September 2014
Enjoy many of the TED talks but wish they added a search and bookmark option to find and save your best talks
1 September 2014
It looks like that signing in while using it with my SP3 does not give me the same functions as the web version (ability to favorite and share videos and the ability to track the influence of my shared video. When clicking on the static graph link, the personal sharing URL does not show up). Please add the "watch later" function, "favorite" function, and also embed the link. Finally, there is a problem when using the app with out the stylus and track pad/mouse. When using ones fingers to select the sharing options, the pop up does not remain open long enough to make the selections in a timely manner.
The app is worth using because the design and the layout is easy to use, however I hope that a future update addresses these, and some of the other reviewers comments. Thanks in advance!

Good content and works great with keyboard and mouse but terrible with touch
14 August 2014
Although the app is useful for viewing TEDTalks, it's not useful for looking up an older talk that I want to send to a friend - I might as well use Youtube or a web browser.
5 August 2014
Wouldn't be bad, but searching is poor and I'm not sure why there is even a sign-in option, since there is apparently no integration with your account at all. You can't bookmark any videos and it won't import anything you bookmarked on the web site, so what is the point of the sign-in other than to gather metrics from what we are watching?
28 September 2015
I love this app
