UPDATE: Vlad fixed the issue I was having with this app, and now I have to give it five stars. I LOVE this app - and the fact that the developer listens to his users is huge bonus. -- For a geek, Markdown is way better than wysiwyg. For non-geeks, maybe not. I love the clean and simple design. It does everything I need it to do. Saving files on skydrive was a really good idea. Auto-saving is the way to go (never asks you to save - it just does it). For my workflow, I like to write a long-ish blog post in writeRT, click preview, then copy the resulting wysiwyg into LiveWriter. Works like a charm. Highly recommended!

This is one of the few writing applications I have found that gets it mostly right. It succinctly captures the essence of distraction free writing. Here's what I like: * Centered column of distraction free writing goodness; * Sentence highlighting is excellent; * Auto-saving is a must-have; * Good integration of Markdown; and finally, * Minimal but useful writing aids that don't get in the way. The developer has worked to address bugs that I have found.

On my Win 8 Pro machine, I am unable to open/save to my Dropbox or Google Drive folders, as I can't find them from the current new/open directory browser.

So what about WriteRT do I like so much? 1. The gray option. It grays by the sentence, line, or paragraph. 2. Spellcheck. 3. Preview is very nice. What I don't like. 1. Have to name when opening a new document and then no manual saving along the way. Makes me sort of uncomfortable but it's not an app-killer. I think I might even get used to not manually saving along the way. I hope there is a way to recover a crashed document though. 2. Can't think of anything

The focus mode is unique and makes this an absolute must buy in my opinion. Markdown support is nice and the auto save feature works really well too. I suppose you could argue for more features, but this isn't MS word. Its simplicity is elegant and adding more would ruin that elegance.

This is a beautifully designed minimalist Markdown editor. Searching is now available via the Search charm. It would be nice if you could choose to have the text left-aligned, and if there was a way to select the typeface.

This is a great app. It does fall short *right away* in user experience because it requires to write to a file. My first request would be: be accommodating. I have a thought, let me start writing right away. Save it to local storage in the background as I write. Let me choose when to save it. Let me bring up the app bar and switch between tabs/documents. Sublime Text 2 is the best inspiration for this type of experience. Love the font size selection for my Surface.

This is a very nice little app for writing and keeping formatting :)
