Air Display is like plugging a second monitor into your computer. Actually, into both of your computers. It gives you two dual-monitor computers when you have two computers sitting side-by-side.
Air Display is like a combination of the following hardware:
A dual-head video card in each computer.
A KVM switch so that you can use a single keyboard and mouse for both computers.
Two video switches so that each monitor can show either of the two computers, independently.
Air Display is just software; there are no hardware or cables to buy.
It works by transmitting data from one computer to the other over your existing network.
When you're operating the other computer, your key presses and mouse clicks are being sent over the network.
When one computer is displaying part of the other computer's desktop, the video data is being sent over the network.
It's all very fast so you usually won't even notice that you're working on two separate computers.
You can place your laptop computer beside your desktop's monitor (like in the photo) or use you can use the software on two desktop computers if they're both on your desk.
