CNN is my favorite "go to" news source, that being said this app is frustrating. I'm busy working on my pc and a pop up comes up in the corner of my screen with a one line (or half line) news bulletin that grabs your interest and when you click on it the app doesn't go to where you can finish reading it. Boooooo!

This is a decent app for browsing news content on your computer in an app format. I especially appreciate the push notifications on my screen. However, I take two stars away for the simple fact that when I do get a breaking news notification and click on it, it simply takes me to the app home screen, where I can't easily find the story I clicked on in the first place. Major fail right there. For that reason I prefer just using the Breaking News or Apple News apps on my iPhone.

I like that we can submit our own news stories. It's cool

Why is it necessary to use my microphone and web camera on my tablet? I chose to not allow It, but I am curious as to why you would like to use it.

I like the app; I find it useful but I wish there things different about it. For starters, it would be nice if the text boxes were big enough to show the entire alert instead of stopping in mid senten... Also it would be nice if clicking the alert took you to the story that was related to the alert; like the android app does.

After upgrade to Windows 8.1 from 8.0 recently (June 2015) in preparation for July's Windows 10 improvement, this app suddenly started doing notifications, interrupting my work on the Windows Desktop (where I do 99% of my Windows use, not in "Tileworld" apps.) Despite my never having turned that on in the past, when I installed it on Win8 a couple of years ago. Worse, its permissions include, as NON-CHANGEABLE, permission to "Use your Pictures Library" and "Use your Videos Library". At least the Webcam and Microphone permissions prompted me for approval, which I of course disabled. But there's no reason for Pictures and Library to hard-default as "ON" with no way to turn off. I do fully understand why those permissions might be needed by people who want to submit iReport or other news tips - but they should default as OFF, and should be changeable. Inappropriate privacy violation by Time-Warner and its Turner subsidiary. Likely deleting this app.
