Great search and news app. I don't give it a five simply because I wish I could add my own sources. There is a suggestion mechanism but that is not what I want

DuckDuckGo is a recent find and a great search engine! I like the featured stories and being able to start my searches in this app.

You will never, ever locate the story teased on the live tile. And the 'stories' that are linked are the sort of thing that would cause you to block the friend sending them. Know your audience. No one seeking privacy, is reassured by cutesy photos of a dog with a birthday cake, etc.

The whole reason to install the app instead of using the web site is so that the experience is better than what you get on the web, not worse. #fail

What's the point if it just opens up links in the regular browser?

My favorite way to use this app is to pin its search to the Search charm, so that no matter what I'm doing, I can just pop open the Search charm and immediately start searching. It opens the DuckDuckGo app, and from there I get my results. The problem? It seems that bang syntax (like !wiki for Wikipedia) from the search charm can cause IE10 to crash, for whatever reason. Other than that, works well!

I go to DDG for the neutral search results. But the app seems to focus on presenting ms-store-like menus for news etc... I'd be happy enough for a simple search w/o all the fluff.

easier to just use the browser instead of an app plus, never once has a news feed/story's thumbnail been anything close to what the item is about. Its just random pictures attached to various headlines. uninstalled.

I did not feel particularly safe or secure with this app. The real DuckDuckGo website is completely no frills, not sure why they would load it down with sponsored links that you can't even turn off. Seems to want to lull you into a false sense of security. Uninstalled.

DDG isn't filled with enticing links. Looks spammy.

DuckDuckGo is awesome no tracking or spying...sweet. FYI here is my other 2 in my personal top 3:
https://www.ixquick.com/
https://startpage.com/ (This is one, for those who still need their Google Fix, minus any and all tracking. ;) ) Enjoy.

DuckDuckGo doesn't track and store your searches. No Big Brother unlike Google.
