As if our expense tool wasn't frustrating enough, now we have an app that makes it twice as frustrating to use - enter msexpense 2.0 i suppose... the constructive feedback I have is that from start to finish the layout is too spread out and there are FAR too many steps and they are very counterintuitive. my goal is to get on the app, and with a few clicks get it all done. the touch interface may not be ideal for everyone. this is definitely harder to use unless i'm on a tablet - which i would use in emergency backup cases not primary filing.. anyway, i'm sure you will get a ton of feedback and make this better. for now, one star. this is impossible to use..

Good first effort. Would love to see more improvements over the coming months. For now, "New expense" UI seems somewhat inconsistent based on where you launch it from.
Also, "New expense" button should be anchored, or else users need to scroll back to the top each time they add an item to the report, once is gets past 4 or 5 items.
It would be good to have daily totals available in Calendar view.

Note that this only runs in demo mode. In a few month, Microsoft will release a version that connects to your Dynamics AX 2012 system. If you want to reset the demo data, select settings > account > reset.

I can't believe one of our own products has such a terrible UX. One of the worst I've seen in the store. It's as if the team who built this never filled out an expense report before and they were hired as the experts to try to make the process better but then made it 100 times worse. Thanks. I'm not even less productive than before. If that was your goal [to decrease productivity], for give me, you succeeded well and I should then rate this 5 stars.

Can't delete demo entries. No settings for sending the reports for approval. This is the worst app I have ever seen.

So yesterday - it was a painful experience with a bunch of "Oops" error messages (from opening the app to adding an expense report to adding in the expenses where unreconciled from my Amex card never showed up.
Today it worked (it has some UI discoverability caveats) - but for most part without latency or server error messages. And I was able to "conclude" my filing within 5 minutes (which I expect if I've only used my Corp Amex card for it to pick it up, have my receipt pictures in place and attached). Anything more than 5 minutes is too much time.

My previous review complained that I couldn't import credit card expenses. Now I realize that this is possible.

How do I print my submitted expense report? Workflow is challenging in some areas, not the flow I expected. Interface is designed to be easy to use with the convenient tiles. I'm used to the Windows 7 GUI, so this Windows 8 interface takes some getting use to. I suspect Windows 10 will normalize this a great deal.

I searched everywhere for the Submit button; had to look up training and even then it was hard to get to. When I submitted, it asked me whether I "submitted the required receipts". No receipts required so i responded NO - which stopped the submissions. Come on folks - we are MSFT - be more precise and FILTER. If NO receipts are required, don't even ask the stupid question.

Rather easy to use but Windows 8 Modern UI style is a bit strange for this kind of app if comparing it to earlier reporting tools, which were web based and much more like filling some paper form. Build in possibility to use web camera to scan receipts is nice idea.

I have no understanding of why people would rate this app poorly. It is perfect for submitting expenses and SO MUCH BETTER that the web experience. I now no longer dread doing my expense reports. The auto connection to my Amex unreconciled charges streamlines expense submission. I can snap a picture, attach it from OneDrive of my receipts and off it goes.
Thanx for the good work. Please keep it coming.

Talk about a step down from the old app. Add to that the fact that the link to the FAQ and user guide is broken on the page describing the new tool and the fact that it asks you to identify the 'service connection' with no explanation of what a service connect is when you try to log on over VPN and its pretty much unusable.

Full of bugs, can't save 50% of the time, a productivity killer... needs serious testing. The UX is also awkward and needs better design and usability testing.

creating a new report is not too difficult. but in the UI flow it doesn't tell you that you have to submit it after the report creation. new report sits in draft state without clear guidance on how to submit it. in the old tool, this necessary step is very clear in the UI flow.
BTW, training materials only have screenshots of SharePoint version. a diagram of step by step workflow would help new users to understand necessary steps in order to get expenses reimbursed.

Also; can you make sure to pass this by a designer before releasing any new versions? it is a horrible experience; hard to use, impossible to figure and sucky all around.
