Best Windows 8 Apps

I agree with the other use regarding the latency. I like what I am seeing and using right now. Would have one other suggestion - provide a way to easily export the tasks. Good work. Thanks

I use this as my main task manager. However, I have a couple gripes. For some reason on my Surface 2, typing the title of a new task is unbearably laggy ; it's fine on my Lumia Icon. Also, there are no alternatives for tiles aside of the 'Priority' list, and I'd like to see one by date

Really good app, and great syncing with Windows Phone. Agreed that there needs to be a way to complete tasks (especially on phone version) without opening them. How about just tapping that big checkbox to the left of each task?

This is an amazing task manager. If the live tile was better, such as able to view tasks default by date or any other options like that would be best.

The Windows 8 App needs a Little polishing to get 5stars. But overall it is one of the best options available in the market

When I first used the app it worked perfectly. Now doesn't even open in in windows 8.1. Hopefully this will be repaired soon.

It's a great and beautiful designed app, for Windows Phone and Windows.
A great start... Still, there is a lot missing: Exchange and Outlook.com tasks support, for starters.. and a way to set tasks as complete, without having to open them and better snap support (all sizes)... When this happens, I'll give 5 starts without blinking!!

I was looking for a simple To Do list that would sync to my Windows Phone. I have been using "to-dos", which was perfect for Windows 8 machines - but it doesn't have a phone companion.
This app does the job I was looking for, but for my purposes - overcomplicates things. I don't need to add priorities or due dates or extra notes to my to items, I just need an app where I can add something to a list easily and the live tile will let me know what is on my to do list.
So I can add items easily enough (though not as easily as to-dos) and just leave every priority the same, which is fine. But the live tile shows to do items by priority, when I would rather it shows it by due date or in order of item #. I wish there was an option to adjust what the live tile shows (that would get four stars). Five stars would let me adjust live tile as well as toggle between "Simple" (add an item to the list and don't need any other details) and "Advanced" - which is what the current state is.

I'm a full-time student with a busy, busy life. This helps keep me on track with everything from homework due, pick up milk, to random things like remember to pick up the dry clean. It syncs will all my devices. Absolutely useful!

Excellent to-do app that syncs quickly across Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 devices.

Could use a large tile option and please add calendar sync/integration

This app is exactly what I needed...a brain dump, then organize my work. Thank you!

I love that I can sync between devices (Desktop, Tablet, Phone), but that's the only thing I can say I "love" about it. I really wish I could mark items as complete without having to "open" them. Perhaps an option so when we click a task we pick either "open" or "complete..." or have some set of quick options (especially on the phone). I would also like to see the new window sizing of 8.1 integrated into the app. I hate that half-screen is the small little bar. Another 8.1 integration that would be great is a simple one - large live tile size. I need it to be loud and proud, or else I won't see and remember the tasks I have to do. Add in some or all of these listed features, and I can see this being the #1 app in the to-do list category!

Keep improving! You are on to something big here

The sync between my tablet, phone and PC works perfectly, so when I have a thought or idea, it's not stuck on one device. Great app, please continue to improve it.
I have used Effectual now for several months and like it a lot. I love that I can manage my tasks across my three devices: tablet, phone, and PC. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is that almost nothing deserves a 5 and there are just a couple of tiny quirks I'd like to see updated.

Just keep the good work up.

The screencaps looked complicated to me at first, but got the hang of it. Very pleased with how it manages categories, priorities, status, and value. Best of the free task managers.

I Love the app on Windows Phone although both need new features and this one needs some bug fixes. Works great however and love that it sync between all my windows devices.
19 October 2013
why does this app needs access to my contact and friends.
The most important thing about this app is the ability to sync task between W8 and WP8 devices
18 October 2013
Love this app on WP and Win8; however it is not syncing properly on Windows 8.1 and I can't see my tasks. Also Windows version is missing some important features as others have suggested.
Works fine on my Tablet and Phone, but crashes on PC / Windows 8.1

Can use some tweaking here and there. And a bit more functionality, like reminder alerts and recurring tasks. But overall I am pleased with this great start. The syncing across all my devices; WP8, W8, WRT8, makes it extra special.
