Rarely loads any content. Useless.

Engadget, this app is horrible. Please redo. It has no design, and half of the articles done even load!

Why can't I read articles offline?

On the windows platform, this app feels like you are using the first version of Netscape...

Seriously, just use the website; Not only is the article view broken and unattractive, (smallish, un styled text that doesn't use the content area) none of the pics or videos load, or at least they took more than 30 seconds to do so. Hire the guys that made the WPC app, AOL!

Its just all around bad, it shows laziness and no care or respect or all users. Ios app and Android app are good, shutting engadget out of my news feeds

This app doesn't even work. It only shows the first article and the rest are blank white squares. And even though the first article is shown I can't seem to actually open it and read what it says. Until its updated I uninstalled and have just been using IE

Come on guys...seriously? Update the app to support portrait mode. I'll apologize in advance if the app already supports it...I can't find it.

Immediately turns off when app is executed.

This app is slow to load as if I'm running on 10yrs old PC. When I want to comment on a article it takes me to the website. I didn't see any point to have this app. I know that Microsoft is removing crap apps from windows store. Can Microsoft remove this app as this is a crap.

Stories look interesting but there is no verbiage showing at all. If I right click and choose comments that takes me to my browser where I can then read the story.

this app would be great if my live tile worked as well as the windows phone and it worked all the time...

Installed for a while checked today, not updating. But the WP8 or 8.1 app works great... lol fail... Wow this app is terrible... just reinstalled nothing on home page... can go latest news but the articles don't display properly... I wish this osb had the feature wp8.1 has _swipe

A bad web browser app. Not worth installing.

The article view is messed up.

Articles often don't display completely.

I really love Engadget but this apps is pretty terrible.

Just as what I expected from engadget. Looks great in metro style

I'm removing this piece of junk. Tile never updates. Crashes. Never loads videos. Sometimes even text content fails to load. You call this an app?

avatar

9 June 2014

Many of the story headlines don't show the story once clicked just a blank page with the headline; a lot of times the videos don't work, the links are broken and the overall functionality like scrolling are a 2nd thought. Unacceptable from a tech company the oddly enough reviews tech.

At first look, the app appears to be a good-looking "modern" style app, but that turns out to be only skin deep. Navigation and then trying to read articles is painful. I'm hoping engadget overhauls the app.

avatar

29 May 2014

To be honest, this app sucks! It has an update feature that sucks and takes forever to update, and the videos never play. This is a letdown for me.

You'd think a tech site like engadget would be able to supply Windows 8 users a better app for viewing their content. Not only is the app slow to load it hasn't been updated in months. The layout is awful of the actual articles and it takes way too long to load. Use the browser and pin the website to your home screen this app is next to worthless. Come on engadget.

16 May 2014

Please update the UI

avatar

8 May 2014

Cheap imitation of their web site, but at least for me it rarely loads or refreshes properly. Stick with the web page for now.

avatar

Issues with feature articles not displaying text and when it does, not appealing. Expect more from engadget. I know its windows and not iPad or android but still, create an app on all platforms that work good and are appealing. Window 8 tablet. Fyi, app for Windows phone is nice!! I give u 5 stars for that one.

avatar

3 May 2014

It appears that the content is good, but the app is slow to load on RT, the individual articles are slow to load also, and the app crashes frequently when trying to load an article. Pretty disappointing, as I generally like Engadgets content, and love to read articles in apps like this on my RT, but this one doesn't make the grade by a long shot.

26 April 2014

This quite possibly is the worst "native" app I've seen from any big publisher. The app is laughably slow & fails to load content more often than not. It gets one star for even existing, much like how I had to rate their webOS app. It appears that Engadget can't control its platform favoritism and bias even when publishing an app. Wonderful.

26 April 2014

Articles load slowly, scrolling through articles is leggy, and layout of articles could use some work. Overall app performs poorly. Very disappointed 😢

What a way to show off your love for engaget AOL.
