So far, this program has been very helpful- it's easy to use and understand. But... it can't open XLR or WPS formats, and it often doesn't finish loading the graphics, so I can't tell which folders I'm looking at. Otherwise, it's a terrific app for organizing- I can see thumbnails for all my image files, which is great. But if you open a file, you MUST make sure it's closed before moving it. Otherwise it won't let you do anything to it. I would like to see Updates for this app, to correct the glitches.

[EDIT] Google drive has stopped working. At least I'm still shown ads though, am I right?! If you can at least fix this I will give you back your stars. ----- If an online source is loading a large directory and you happen to switch over to a different tab while the pinwheel is still turning, it will load the page you were waiting for in the tab you were trying to switch to. Other than that the only problem I have with the app is the G drive wait times. If the tab overriding bug is fixed I'll be sure to change this to a 5 star rating.

I got this app for ftp. I first tried mFTP2 but it crashes when you login. This is worse. It doesn't even START!!! I load it and before it shows it's home screen it crashes.

Personally, I like the interface of File Browser over this. But, this is the most complete file manager that I've used (at least as a Windows 8 store app). A few features to note... You can select a file or directory and see the properties (like total file size). You see a progress dialog during file transfers. A few niggles... While the file transfer dialog is open, you can't do other function (you can, but you can't see anything). OneDrive is still called SkyDrive (a simple update would take care of that). You can't see the free space on a drive. When in portrait, on the Dell Venue Pro 8, you can't see the whole bottom app bar (some icons are truncated). It would be nice if the live tile was a little more Windows 8ish (the iconography doesn't match, very well). Overall, a very good file manager.

File Manger HD is has a "full Metro" interface and, despite being 32 bit, loads and carries out operations quickly. If it only had a search function, it could replace Windows Explorer.

Doesn't show hidden files.

Would be a 5 if the direct launch worked in windows 8

So far, this is my favorite file manager on the store. It has a nice clean interface that makes it easy to navigate and work in. I like being able to save folders to the start screen of the app (or whatever it's called) so I'm not worried about the Pictures, Music, and Videos being the default folders added. Being able to connect to all of my cloud storage (Drive and OneDrive) as well as traditional FTP servers was a nice bonus too. However, there are a few features I would like to see (although I am unsure if all of them are possible due to constraints by Windows): * an address bar so I can type in folders directly or copy the path * I'd like to reorganize my local saved folders * opening .exe's takes you to the desktop where that is permitted * at least basic file archive support (.zip, .tar.gz, .rar) for extracting and compressing folders If the app had these features, I would rate it 5 stars without a doubt.

"open with" is one of the basic things you expect from a file explorer. It should have this option when you select several files (or a folder) as well: "open all with..."

Started out great. Then google must have changed something. No response from the folks at Rhythm software.

Even basic selection of files semis to be buggy. I'm using same app on android an very harpy but windows version needs bug fixing and improvements.

It is nice to be able to access files on both my C drive, Sky Drive, and Google Drive, but my Surface II will not write to the Google Drive. I am not sure if this is a limitation of the app or something I am doing wrong.

Restricted from opening jpg files. Delete.

Also, it is not useful for when you want to navigate to a file and open it in another application. Not sure if that's a Metro-app limitation of this app's shortcoming.

FTP barely works. Most of the time it doesn't work at all. As a file manager - windows does it much better so why do I need this?

Free version doesn't allow adding folders, or shortcut to folders. Can't find any kind of user's instructions. What does Paid version get you other than no adds?

Works great! Although it doesn't play .mkv files. That could be fixed with an update though. Still a good app!!!

I really like this app. It docks well, but it needs to support more flexible sizing. Overall high quality and useful.
