What I was hoping for was something as polished as the iPad app. What I ended up with was a very rudimentary chat app that's better than the free one only because it supports more networks. It apparently lacks the ability to merge users and there seems to be no customization available. If any of that is there then it provides no easy way of finding it. All in all, a big waste of money so far.

This is _the_ instant messaging application for Windows 8. $4.99 is a bit much for an application that just interfaces with other people's message protocols, but the elegance of the UI will make you forget about that. The ads in the lite version also cancel keyboard input when they change, which is very aggravating and brought me to this version.

I Loved this app, I used it everyday as I work from home and snapping made my life a lot easier. but unfortunately after today, the app no longer works, not online has restarting my PC not fixed the issue but neither has uninstalling and re-installing the app either. I used this app Everyday and had no issues until now. the app will no longer connect to any of my messengers (yahoo, Gmail, Skype) and upon closing the app it will no longer come back up unless you reinstall it. it only keeps closing itself. very unhappy customer and in need of a new IM. hope to see a fix soon

It's working well with all of the IM services I use.

This app could be great if only it didn't have some elementary problems. 1. Notifications don't always work on desktop and I miss out a lot of messages from my friends. 2. Connectivity issues especially when coming out of sleep mode 3. Authentication issues out of the blue. I need to disable and reenable accounts to bring them back to working status. 4. Notification sounds play annoyingly even when the app is in focus.

Desperately needs account synchronization with Microsoft ID. After uninstalling the free and then installing the Pro, I had to add individual chat connections in each of my 4 Windows 8/RT devices. Really painful and would have to do it again if I reinstall the app or OS. Also, please fix the scrolling problem and the scroll bar floating 10 pixels above the bottom edge..

Suggestions: 1) Fix the Favorites. Sometimes they're lost. 2) Make the app not put notifications or sounds when your cursor is typing in that person's chat. 3) Make it possible to change the notification sound. 4) Make the person who you have received a chat from change colors in the list instead of just a small, hard to see envelope icon. 5) Make the app able to notify you if it is open in the background (i.e. not snapped or the main app). also, have it persist in case it you don't see it

This app is a waste of money. It never behaves even though it's probably the most simple IM app ever. Sick of Windows Store apps altogether. What on earth could possibly be so difficult about sticking an IM client inside a modern app? SMH.

IM+ shouldn't have to be in the foreground to be "Open". When I minimize it, it sticks it into "Push" mode if you have that enabled, otherwise it considers you offline. In other words, for whatever reason, minimized = closed... Not how I'd like to use this. Push mode should be for if the program is actually not running and some third party cloud service is handling things (guessing this isn't the case.) The other side of this being that if I set "Push" mode to some amount of time, and then put my machine to sleep, weird things happen. Certainly did when I had an iPhone too...

I have used this app for the past few years on iOS devices and absolutely loved it. The Windows 8 version has a critical flaw the developers do not seem to want to fix: when using with a tablet, the onscreen keyboard rolls the conversation off the top of the screen. Reported by multiple purchasers, but remains ignored. I highly recommend not purchasing this app until this is fixed.

Your facebook account requires extended permission. Please tap on ok to enable all permissions. Click it, nothing happens. Go to website manually and all permissions are enabled. Won't let me log in. Fuck FB

Notifications need improvement. When a notification pops up for a message I am receiving, if I click the note, it brings the app up but then proceeds to repeat the notification...shouldn't hitting it once bring you right where it needs to be, instead of necessitating a second selection every time? I've actually recommended and installed more than once, make it worthwhile... To be fair, the performance dramatically improves on the Surface Pro and higher end Windows machines, perhaps they could work on improving the low end functionality? All in all, good work...

IM+ PRO works nicely. The one feature I really wished it had though is the ability to sync my account information across devices. I have an RT tablet and a WINPRO 8 latptop. I hate that I have to add and manage the individual account information on both devices. IM+ Pro should sync that information to my Skydrive account or some other location. It really takes away from the product.

Where are the updates for this app? There's been 1 update in the last few months. There are a few functions that really need to be added like the ability to easily add groups, you can add new contacts to groups but existing contacts can't be moved into an existing group. If you use any messaging service this will link up to them all. I specifically use Gooooogle Talk and it works well. The design and layout are nice. There's a lot of potential here, don't let the others pass you up.

It worked at first but stopped working. So, I reinstalled Pidgin and I'm happy...

The only thing that could make it better is that it can't load sent messages from other devices. For instance, in GTalk, if I send a message to someone from my phone and then come back to my PC and go on IM+, it'll show responses and what not, but not the message *I* sent from elsewhere. This may be a limitation of the API for GTalk, but if it could be overcome, that'd be awesome

Although the Pro version doesn't add much, I still bought it anyways. Why? because this app is amazing, and changed how I used windows 8 from the first time I used it. It's good. Design wise, they followed a lot of the guides for metro, sometimes to a fault, such as forcing users to pick from a metro inspired background instead of pick your own. Really solid all around design. Overall pretty much the app to beat for a messenger that can do it all.

I saw another comment about it not working after the latest IM update, so I know its not my computer. Fix this or you'll lose a lot of customers.

I am not able to get the app to work ..it starts to load then just shuts down ...I keep having to delete it then reinstall... it is quite annoying. Though I do like the app when it works

The app is a good one, the best IM app for Metro, but there are some shortcomings that are only frustrating. There are some additional IM transports they could add, but that's not critical. The biggest issue remains the need to use too much of the Metro design methodology. It's ugly and sacrifices too much free space. It also lacks good definition between chatters, a common styling feature of most IM apps. All in all, too many clicks to make it a killer app. Keep working on it!

I love the general feel of the app, however it is not without problems. 1) it can't always connect (or stay connected) to my google talk accounts 2) account grouping doesn't work - I have it set to group by contacts by account, but it all shows under 1 account even though I have 2 google accounts connected.

Routinely have issues connecting and often cannot determine the status of my contacts as it is different than reality, (Show offline when online, etc).

It's great when it works, but it's unstable. Hope future release addresses problems with crashing on open and during use.

Needs greater flexibility in grouping contacts and more secure file transfer. UPDATE - Stability is greatly improved.

Use to work, now will not start up if minimized. Have to uninstall and reinstall in order to get the app to start. This is probably my last reinstall.

Come on, for how much I paid, EVERY CHAT SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE!
