Comments for Texture - Unlimited Magazines

The Texture app works well on my both my Windows 8.1 Surface RT tablet and Surface Pro 3 tablet/laptop. I love having a huge variety of magazines with me online or offline whenever I have a little time to read.

But you need a reasonably powered device and fast internet or you're going to get frustrated and write one of these erroneous reviews saying it's a terrible app. And it works fine to read a mag without an internet connection. Just be sure you have a complete download. I use it on my old 10.1" tab and it's not particularly fast to load but it does load reasonably well with fast internet. My 2013 version of Nexus 7 is much faster. And the mags you load make a great difference. Architectural Digest takes much longer than The New Yorker... and with good reason. The art in AD is superb. For travelers this is an answered prayer.

My whole family enjoys this app because it covers every magazine we love. Its a great deal for over 100 magazines. Also No more cluttered coffee table with stacks of magazines piled up.

Had read reviews and tried anyway and having zero issues on Windows 8.1 and Surface Pro 3. It signed right in, I downloaded several magazines. I went offline and tested and it does warn no internet and then opened fine and magazines worked perfect offline. Guess I got lucky with all the others having issues on Surface Pro 3 units. So far very pleased and very easy to use. Really like it so far.

Took me a while to get used to reading from digital media but now I would do no different.

I love this app - I can carry all my mag with me anywhere! Works GREAT on my Samsung tablet and my windows 8 laptop. I love the tablet layout where I can click for more content and the laptop layout where it is just like the paper version. I have cancelled all my other digital subscriptions. Best of all there are magazines for the whole family!

An absolutely essential app for anyone who loves magazines.

I've used this for vacation as well as day to day. Great selection of titles and have not had any issues with the app not working correctly!

If you use a tablet, there's no better way to carry your favorite magazines with you. And many include exclusives for tablets, such as video, that enhance the experience in an awesome way.

The Surface Pro 3 was made for magazine reading with its almost page size screen. In the portrait position, a page fills the screen and most magazines don't need magnification. The National Geographic is spectacular - I had been missing it since I let my subscription lapse. The Next Issue version is better than the print, only missing the smell of fresh ink on high quality paper. Earlier software was a bit touchy but lately has been very transparent to use. A great value, especially with 4 readers in our family, and a boon to the environment.

My Mom enjoys reading People Magazine, so Dad gets her a subscription every year, for Christmas. That allows her & I to access the Digital Edition through Windows 8.1, on my PCs, & Polaroid 10" Android Tablets.

I love magazines, but don't like the clutter they create around the house. With Next Issue I get unlimited access to the many magazines I like to read.

I've had Next Issue now for several months and use it religiously and love it . It is an awesome app, and has a lot of great magazines. You have access to all the back magazines and many are interactive. It lacks a bookmark and highlight feature which would be nice (only reason for a 4 star not 5 star), but has a overview feature with thumbnails that allows very quick navigation. You can also pin your favorites. LOVE this app. ---------------------- UPDATE I love this app, wish they had it for windows phone. It would be awesome on my 1520. Over a year subscriber, still happy customer. FEATURE REQUEST Make library searchable, by entire library, select magazines, current issue, both online (not in my collection or downloaded), and offline (just the ones I have in my collection. Also a 'research' or 'student' mode. Highlight, make notes, share to other apps, auto bibliography for all quotes, ideas, referenced. Share with other document apps. Story mode, social 'stories' share

If you enjoy reading magazines, this is a must have app. When compared to individual subscriptions, the savings are almost too good to be true. You get over 100 magazine subscriptions, including a limited number of back issues, for $10-$15, depending on which offer you choose. The interface can be a bit clunky and frustrating at times, though I am hoping this will improve with time and customer feedback. I am disappointed that I cannot access the app on my Note 3, though I am also hoping this can be rectified. All in all, the app itself needs to be refined, and compatibility must be expanded to include Android phones; however, regardless of these deficiencies, gaining access to over 100 magazines each month for $15 on various tablets in our home is a great bargain. By the way, the selection of magazines is quite broad, as my sons and daughters have each found at least three or four magazines that they look forward to reading.

It is really nice to have 100's of magazines titles available to read. The viewer is ok. I wish that you can select the way to view the magazines. I would prefer to view one page at a time instead of both. But a nice app overall.

I use this app on iPad and Nexus and it works flawlessly. I've found on Win8.1 that it works best for me if you I use portrait mode (and click the zoom option). Microsoft is always more difficult due to the amount of compatibility they offer. If it isn't working for your device, I recommend trying again later, they'll get it working right eventually. Oh, and the iPad/Android apps allow you to set auto-download by magazine, so look for that in the future too.

I love this app, have it on my phone too, and get tons of use from it. The price is very similar to Netflix and other subscription services. I do not understand people's issue with putting in a credit card? EVERY subscription service requires you to do this, it is nothing new. Also, the rate 10-15$ a month is unreal. Although I only read about 15 to 20 of these magazines it would cost me twice that to get a digital subscription since some run 2-3$ a month/each. Access to Time, Rolling Stone, Surfer and others for this price is unreal. The only improvement I would like to see is a zoom feature and further UI improvements. Overall I am VERY impressed and excited to have this.

This subscription costs less than the 3 magazines I already subscribed to and I now can also enjoy magazines I wanted to read but only bought on occasion like Entertainment and Geek! Love the most recent Geek magazine with Darryl Dixon of the Walking Dead! Seriously, over 100 magazines for $15 a month. Love it!

This app works great on my Windows 8 desktop, my Surface RT, my Samsung Pro, and my iPad. I love how I can subscribe to over 100 magazines. The issues are downloaded to my device and I can read them later, even when I'm offline. Great!

I don't understand the negative reviews for this app. I'm regularly reading nine magazines for $14.95 per month that would cost me over $100 monthly if I bought from a newsstand. Great variety of magazine options. I had trouble getting app to work at first, but customer service e-mailed me instructions that worked everything out. This is the best app I have on my Surface.
