I bought this app to make the most of my Surface Pro 3 i5 model. Honestly settings are limited. OneNote handwriting is a lot more crisp than Metamoji note. The handwriting mode is very leggy even on my mid range tablet with 8GB ram. I'm disappointed for sure because I like the PDF importing and calligraphy pen. Please update and resolve these issues.
I will be calling Windows customer service for a refund because the lag makes this app unusable for my personal training business usage...

This app so far is REALLY good -- minus two MAJOR things.
1). Other reviews are correct in the app lagging sometimes. Sometimes it is great with no issues and sometimes it lags like crazy and nothing helps besides exiting twice.
2). No PDF option ---- This needs to be changed right away. The app is great other than this. There is no reason for any app or program to NOT have PDF as an option. The world runs on PDF. Please make this available ASAP.
With these two fixes it would absolutely be 5 stars and I would highly recommend it. The lack of PDF is the biggest downfall of this app.

12 February 2015
This program was great, but for the past 2 months it is not saving additional pages added to ongoing notes most of the time. I have lost countless hours of work. When I reopen a note, most of the time the last sessions additions are gone. Very disappointed!
6 February 2015
I've used this app before and loved it-but never needed to export to pdf. Now that I need to I can't believe it won't even though it says it can in the description ! And the saving as JPG files does not work for all files
28 January 2015
Good program but: can not save it back in PDF format, Proprietary file format, Nobody can read it unless has the MetaMoji Note. Waste of money.
10 January 2015
It is really great, the only improvement I could see is making it so the marks and notes stay on the PDF.
6 January 2015
I bought this app to annotate PDF's and save them. Online it says that you can save the file as a PDF when u r done but it only lets me save it in JPG. Not Wirth the time it takes to learn the program
28 December 2014
I have bought just about every note taking app on the store looking for something that has decent handwriting recognition and cloud features; I am simply blown away by the handwriting recognition of this app, even using a cheap capacitive stylus on my Surface 2 the rendered text looks very neat and legible. The automatic cloud backups are really helpful for viewing your notes on other devices and for safekeeping. Try as I might, I could not find something to dislike about this app, it works just like I need it to, I would highly recommend this to any student looking for an app to take notes on.
16 September 2014
I really like this app because it's the only one that lets me annotate PDFs. The only thing that sucks is the lag time between loading and the pen. I would love to use it for note taking in class but it's way to slow therefore I use it for studying when I have time to mess with its kinks! Otherwise its a good app fix the pen lag then it would be AWESOME!

The notetaking ability of this app is wonderful and on par with some other brand name note taking app on iOS . Unfortunately this app is extremely poor portability of notes. Namely, this app forces you to cloud sync all your valuable work to their cloud server only, and you are not allowed to sync to other services such as onedrive, icloud. In addition, this also do not allow save your notes as PDF (your only option is print, but requires purchase of related PDF software that gives you a printer driver), and there is literally no way to easily keep your notes in a save location other than the limited 2GB cloud drive they force you to use. Plus not being able to save as PDF means you are forced go use this app to review any of your notes. Its such a wasted potential since the programming for the note taking part is amazing, but the extremely limited portability of said valuable note taking work renders this app unusable. Sad.

As far as handwritten note and pic taking with sketching, this app is better than OneNote. One of the main reasons is the palm rejection pane or palm rest. I cannot understand why this is not include this in the OneNote app version. I take notes in the field on jobsites and at customer locations while walking. I replaced a yellow note pad and camera with a Surface 2 version. The handwriting is smoother as well. You can insert pictures from the camera and photo files and write, type or draw notes on them. Insert 'items' from the app's showcase or create and register your own with power point or paint for commonly used shapes, sketches or symbols in your notes. The app syncs with my SkyDrive and between all W8, apple & android devices. View and annotate PDF. Zoom, rotate or resize anything. Handwritten to text conversion. Search text. Several pen styles, colors and highlighting. Lasso editing. Separate notebooks and pages for different projects. Share with email, dropbox ...etc

Coming from notability on the ipad, I had high hopes that this would be the windows metro equivalent. Unfortunately, I was very wrong. It is too laggy to be useful and the positioning of the tools near the bottom of the screen make the palm rest useless. I still find myself hitting buttons I don't mean to. Much room to improvement. Make the response 1:1 and take some notes on the UI design and you have a winner
28 May 2014
This software is really practical and help me a lot at work. Taking pictures and mark or write on them to indicate some critical features make my journey easy and enjoyable!
I would say that this software just need the direct saving to .pdf format to be perfect.

This is a very nice app with various pens (i like the fountain pen). But it suffers from lags during fast writing/stroking, making writing in cursive can be unpleasant experience. Please fix this issue. And oh, bigger page thumbnail can be really helpful
20 March 2014
I Like it, I really do, I just have a few questions:
1-can you attach youtube clips?
2-can you create url links (but in the sense that it allows you to change the name of the url link)?
The app itself seems extremely strong, but if you can do the things above, it doesn't really show it in the manual. Even more, if it doesn't offer the opportunity, is it possible to add them in? I feel like it can influence the app itself to improve dramatically in this fashion.
I have no idea if a response may come to this, if I may not see it, please feel free to email me at: TheListeningPostAcrossAmericaChronicles@Hotmail.com I'd like to see where this goes from here.
Milestone moment: FIRST REVIEW EVER MADE ON THIS STORE!
Enjoy y'alls day!

Downloaded but can't use it. No help.
8 March 2014
Very laggy when trying to write on a PDF, it is frustrating. Pen strokes do not register. Give us an option to control opacity with the highlighter please. Default setting is too dark, I end up using the marker pen to highlight things. The app also lags when trying to scroll through the PDF pages, especially if zoomed in.
-Using Surface 2
28 February 2014
With the new update, if finally sped up! Its finally fast enough to load math worksheets, but I am not so sure about textbooks, but I have other apps for that! Wonderful app, now, and I can not spot anything wrong with it! Perfect, flawless, and no more glitches. I might just switch to this app on my outdated iPad because I think that it is slowly improving! Thanks!
14 February 2014
Use it for school to organize and annotate pdfs. It works OK but a few simple features missing.
1. Doesn't swipe easily from page to page and instead reader needs to hit little buttons. (Fixed this in last update)
2. No option to quickly switch between several documents. ie no tabs
3. NO HIGHLIGHTER!!!!! Seriously....
25 January 2014
This app is excellent for students who take lecture notes from their professors and annotate during class. You won't waste paper printing those lecture notes for class.
However the main downside is the fact that it lags a lot. I can't write more than 10 letters before the app becomes not responsive to my capacitive pen and I have to wait about 5 seconds before it is fully responsive again. 5 seconds may not seem a lot but if it's after every couple words it becomes hard to deal with.
This is the closest free app I have found that compared with the Notability app of apple products. It has a zoom feature to write notes and see the whole page, function for your palm so the screen is not responsive to your palm, and it does have some nifty editing and pen tools.
Please add an export to PDF option and fix this lag. Thanks!
20 January 2014
This is just what I needed to make quick, artsy sketches during class! I don't need to carry around paper or pencils or markers anymore. All that I need is my computer, which I already take everywhere. Sometimes I feel that the app gets a little slow but if I close down other apps it usually gets going again. I've found that it is really helpful to zoom in closely when I want smoother lines
16 January 2014
This app really helps me when I am meeting clients. I take all the notes on my surface and then store them in folders so I can be very organized. Also the features are great for example all kinds of type of paper that can be used for the notes. My favorite is the Yellow pad which I use for regular notes but then you have all kinds of other type of paper for a variety of uses. All in all a very good app.
3 January 2014
Fix this crap... cant believe i paid for it.
19 December 2013
The only thing missing is to be able to save annotated documents as pdf.
14 December 2013
I use this app as an annotater, and it is amazing. User friendly controls, definitely download
13 December 2013
The previous design made my eyes bleed. Using this with the Dell Venue 8 pro and the synaptics pen. Works better than OneNote for inking so i am pleased. The app has so many things going on i haven't quite wrapped my mind around all the features yet but i will use it more often now :)
11 December 2013
There you go. Kudos for the developer team making this app came out for it usability. Recommended app.
23 November 2013
I love the basic features and the quality writing. Unfortunately it is almost useless because there is no way to handle palm rejection. If my palm hits before the pen it zooms, mark, or generally goes nuts. If I make sure the pen hits first then it works great. Just not ideal to have to pay so much attention to taking notes. Hopefully they will get that corrected.
20 November 2013
Very disappointed that i am using this app for all 3 versions-android,ios and win8. It has abundance of features that are very useful and i like it. But the sad thing is that it is extremely slow in opening, response and syncing and often crash and stall, especially the win8 version. My devices are ipad 4, galaxy s4, galaxy note 10.1-2014ed, samsung ativ tablet. The win8 version is not even updated to the same as the ios and android versions. I hope that the developers can a much better job so that all 3 versions can be used reasonably. That doesn't mean that i done like the app but rather that i dont like the crashes.
