Often the app doesn't work, for example an ongoing issue over the past few months is that it claims there isn't an internet connection. And just today it has taken to displaying nothing but a blank screen.
They can do better, especially with so many fellow Microsoftees reading it!

Yes, the accolades for the aesthetics and the feel for this app are merited, but it's got to run well first. The app has difficulty reconnecting to the internet if it loses connection mid-stream or launched before a wireless connection has been established. More frustrating than that is the continued delay in refreshing content. I read a paper online much like I would a paper in print... regularly, expecting to read something new each day. I'm back to paper and the website until this improves. Too bad, it was so close to being a great news app.

I've tried the apps for iOS, Android, Windows and Windows Phone and by far the Windows/Windows Phone versions are the best. In fact, these apps are far superior to trying to read the new site via a web browser.
I've only had one instance of the stories not re-freshing and an un-install/re-install seems to have fixed this (note: not acceptable, SeaTimes needs to fix this, but only a minor annoyance).
Only other minor complaint is that some times stories appear in the incorrect section. IE: A national news story may appear in the Local news section.

I can't even give it a one. I think 3 stories have changed during the last week. They can't even get the cover story updated.

The Times changed their website and broke this app. It gets a 1 unless they fix it.

This app feels like they were trying to outdo Bing News and I think they did a remarkable job. Really nice to see some real effort in making an app that would be exceptional on any platform. I highly recommend it.

Sometimes I can't get past the opening screen. It just churns, endlessly. When I do get through, it's beautifully designed. In fact, it's one of the better news apps out there.

Surprisingly COOL on Windows 8.1 with a touch screen. And I really like good old fashioned newspapers. Hmm....

I'm really impressed with this news app. The layout is really nice, easy to navigate, and aesthetically well done. I'm using it with a touch enabled Surface Pro 3 - the mouse experience may not be as good, but then if you're using a mouse, you may well be using the browser site. Definitely worth a look.

Great to see this app on Windows, and for the most part, seems beautifully executed.
One small suggestion: on the Home page, only one story shows (at least on my relatively small laptop screen) and it isn't apparent that there are other stories scrolled off to the right. It feels like a dead end. Would be vastly more intuitive to navigate if you gave a peek at the stories to the right (and shrunk down the Top Story image to ensure users are always aware of the next story to the right).
It's a quibble really, and overall it looks like you've done a great job on the app! Thanks!
