I speak English and have been learning Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese) for the past two years and some members of my family are Chinese, and this app is very accurate and even does a good job with most slang terminology as well. Good job Microsoft.

This is truly an awesome translator.It has even got a offline translator database for downloading later.It has also got text to voice convertor so you can listen to the text to which you have converted and what you typed.One of the best productivity softwares in Windows 8!!

Hardware is capable but microsoft doesn't support it just like their onenote app. What is microsoft doing? ALL atom tablets are clovertrail and they forgot or not planning to support it? Stupid

Keeps telling me to install latest updates from Windows Update before using the camera function even though system (Surface RT) is completely up to date. MS Fail. Worthless without the camera function. 2 weeks later. Same problem.

My brand new windows 8 tablet's camera doesn't meet their requirements for a camera. Whatever that means.

I can't fit them all in 500 chars. So I'll make an abbrev. list: 1. App failed to detect bad HP Webcam driver and crashed the app, throwing me back to the start screen. 2. Typed translations okay, but no sound produced when I clicked speaker icons. 3. No support found. Had to Google search for basic troubleshooting. 4. Found I had to uninstall HP Webcam driver and reinstall MS driver. 5. Camera gave message that its too small. 6. sound worked, but only about 10 clicks. Then silence again. 6.

This app has run seamlessly in all my use of it, a far more convenient solution to google translate, and perhaps a more robust and accurate app for both German and Spanish grammar than any other translating solution on the market. This implementation fits in beautifully with Windows 8.1, and I'd recommend it to any Windows 8/8.1 user.

The program seems to function fine. Unfortunately, the translations don't compare to those you can get via google translate. You would sound pretty foolish saying some of the things in Spanish that this program dishes out.

It helps me translate between English and Portuguese. However, I'm unable to resize it to a very small strip on the side of my monitor. It takes up about 1/2 the screen, but I'd like to fit it into like a 1/6.

On my surface pro it does not recognize small fonts, i.e most of the printed content

The fact that their is no voice integration, and speed for play back is a deal breaker for me . IT is useless , I can just type this into any search engine and translate what makes this so special ?

This app is cool as I'm interested in so many different languages, however two things; I'd like to be able to download Japanese and other Asian languages for offline use, and I really, really, REALLY wish there was a way to change the language for the random words on the live tile. If multiple languages were an option, that would be even better, but even if I could just get one at a time that would be great. I really want to improve my vocabulary in multiple languages.

I get an error saying the camera does not meet minimum spec requirements, so I can't use image translate. This doesn't make sense seeing as the Samsung 500t has an 8 MP rear camera.

Keeps telling me to get the store updates. There are none. The text translator works fine. After updates the camera capture works very well. Being able to download a language means I can take this on vacation and use it where there is no Wi-Fi connection. Good work. The only thing missing now is voice translations.

Google doesn't only gives you a word when its translate, but also the others possible meaning....something that bing translate lack. Bing translate it is just another ordinary translator

Suddenly after the update my Rear facing camera does not meat the requirements? What happened? This is with my Lenovo Helix.

It doesn't matter if you have an 8M camera, every single Atom Clover Trail-based tablet won't work with camera mode. The camera on these tablets are far better than many of the cameras out there for a portable PC so this technical problem really needs to be fixed.

I was hoping for an ok Google Translate equivalent. Instead, I found at least as good with a UI that is even better! The only change I could even ask for would be when one word translations are requested, that multiple options are shown, and the likelihood that those are the translation being searched for. Like Google Translate does... But seriously, not disappointed. This is a great app!

"I want to go home" is translated as "quiere ir a casa". That is lousy translation. It should be at least "quiero ir a mi casa".

I have 8 megapixel camera in a dell tablet, thought that would be high enough

I want to cancel my bing translator. I do not want you to have access to my internet or webcam or anything else.

It says my 8 mp camera doesn't meet requirements. What are the requirements? Is it using the front or rear camera?

There is no any camera translation option on this application.
