As far as I'm concerned this is the best news app available for free. The content is constantly updated, the layout works well on my Surface, and the features blow every other news app out of the water.

I love CBS News. With lots of remote travel (with no TV, but cell internet that I hotspot to laptop), I love CBS News videos to catch up. But what's with the Holiday Inn adoption ad (BTW, actually great ad)?? It's the ONLY ad that shows up, and depending on section I view video from, sometimes runs twice per video clip viewed (once before, once after - & remember, video clips are usually under 2-min. each)! This amount of ads is obnoxious, but having to watch the same ad (hasn't changed once since I installed app in mid-July 2015) is ridiculous!! Come on CBS!!!!

I originally thought this would have streaming from CBS News. Instead it's more of a magazine style app. Think NY Times Magazine. Really nice still photos with professional written articles. Well executed for what it is, but if you are looking Face of the Nation ect. does not seem to be part of this app. Correction: This does have streaming video of CBS News Programs also did not realize you had to click the small arrow on front page to get menu for video and other options. Once you leave front page can't access menu. Excellent App. Really Good App.

CBS has a great news team, and this app is a great way to keep up with both the print content and the DVR-like live video stream. Great work.

Way too much adds. I don't mind them since the content is free, but there is WAY TOO MUCH!

This and the WP version of this app are the best apps in the store by far. I wish I could give it a ten star cause this app certainly deserves it.

This is what people consider the pinnacle of interface design? Give me a break, please. The opening screen is one giant photo, representing one story. So immediately, you have to interact to get to the real content. Once you're there, you click on a story, and you have no settings that you can change (font size/style, etc.) to improve the experience. Then, click the back arrow. And do you go back to where you were? No, you do not. You have to scroll to get back to where you were. As I was saying...

The best windows modern news app so far!

I've been watching the progression of CBS interactive apps here on the Windows store, and they've been quite the improvement. This slick and adaptable app is miles ahead of other news apps in the store. I'll be using this app quite a bit on Windows 8.1.

Very well designed and a fluid UI.

After using it a few minutes, I am able to state that CBS News is one of the best apps I've used since Windows 8.1 came out.

This is truly the best news app for the Windows Store. The companion app for Windows Phone is just as awesome. The devs have created a fluid and beautiful method to view the news. I never really was a fan of CBS, but I find myself going back to this app over and over for news updates. Bravo.

The designers at CBS made an app that is intuitively beautiful. An excellent array of choices and functions await you. If you love the design language that Windows offers, this is a must have. Easily one of my top favorite apps. I especially LOVE the nature clips feature of CBS Sunday Morning. It has always been my favorite thing about this legendary program. Kudos aside, one thing I wish this app did have? A way to stream videos on a loop, as opposed to starting one new after the prior one is complete. Thank You!

One of the best conceived news app to come out in months... Period. Definitely worth the wait...

There're still a lot of bugs and the app is in general quite unstable, would quite often close itself when the news is on. Other than that, kudos to CBS for this great idea, a lot better than traditional TV news.

This is one of the most beautifully designed Windows app available. Using it on the Surface Pro is such an enjoyable experience. It has now become my main news app on both my Surface Pro and my Lumia 920. It serves as a model for other apps to follow. Excellent job CBS. Thanks!
