I finally subscribed to the FT after decade long absence. It's the best news source around. I was feeling a little orphaned as I saw apps for IOS and Android but not Windows until I stumbled across this. Have only used it briefly but it seems very nice. I would appreciate an app for Windows Phone and hope that one will be coming with the advent of Universal Apps for Windows. After a week, I still like it, ran into a problem. Played a video from the menu selections and then could not find a way back. A right click displayed a number of the usual sections of the site at the top, but none could be accessed. Clicking on them resulted in "Section not found" messages.

Swiping down from the top reveals all of the sections of the paper, but none of the links work. You have to use the iPhone/Android menu type functionality. Not Windows 8 friendly at all. Needs to be completely redesigned.

app.ft.com works, why doesn't this?

Smooth, intuitive, just like the paper FT Update: Live Tile won't refresh unless I open the app.

The dedicated application is intuitive. My problem is that the application doesn't support the links when swiping down from the top of the screen and selection a section.

The left side bar with the list of sections does not work. It also does not save the username & password. Overall needs improvements to get to the level of iOS app.

I can't get away from the pictures in the article on the OED. Nothing I do makes them go away. How do I get back to the newspaper? The problem was a red 'beta' band obscuring the X at the right end of the bar at the top of the screen. A reboot cause the app to update, the beta band disappeared, and I was able to close the photos.

Updated: Wonderful application, I can snap my fastFT feed to the side of the screen and work away. Interface is similar to iOS tablet devices (May in-fact be identical). Great update works splendidly. -- Old: For a more worthwhile experience the scrolling must be cleaned up to provide a less "choppy" feel.

I can finally see the pictures that accompany Rowley's articles. I cooked that risotto last night and it got great reviews from the wife and my toughest critic of all: my 4 year old. Anyway, the new layout's great. 4 stars for now. Hopefully no bugs will prevent me from boosting this to a 5 in the near future.
