Enjoyed my experience with Android device and was excited to download Gospel Lib Beta App to Win 8.1. Taking the time to write review in hopes for an update that will fix glitch.
Glitch- After selecting app from Start, it would load and open to home page, then selected bookmark from home page -it appears as if it is loading and then the app closes. I open the app again and this time I select scriptures from home page, then Book of Mormon, next 1 Nephi, Chapter 1 instead of loading scripture the app closes. Today is 8/17/15 and the last update on my device was dated 8/14/2015. Haven't used other features on app because I went back to using my Android.
Highlighting features on Beta app is little more involved than the Android app. It would be nice if the app features were streamlined so that there the same regardless of what device your using. Especially, Win 8.1 which allows for touch screen.
Thanks and looking forward to next update!

It will not download some of the books. It states they are in the wrong format. Mainly, Young Women's handbook and New testament Teachers guide in Semimary

I have Windows 8.1 and this app won't work. When I click it to open, it tries to open but automatically shuts down. I uninstalled and reinstalled, and nothing has helped.

Love this app. So easy and great to use. I like the beta version better than the original one.
14 June 2015
The app gives me many of the options I enjoy when studying material. In the recent release I lost mouse and screen controls when I got into specific lessons. I am sure that this will be resolved as it is a simple coding issue.

I am previous user of prior versions, Glad for opportunity to Beta Test

I appreciate how aware the developers are of the strengths of Windows 8.1 and how they are building these strengths into this software. I have made recommendations and have had very quick and useful interactions with some of the developers. Finally there is a way for me to capture web addresses and hyperlinks to my notes, then being able to launch the browser from within the app without being forces to copy the address and paste in the browser window. I still have much to learn to harness this app for all my gospel study needs, but I am really enjoying the journey.

This is really close to being the great experience that iOS and Android devices enjoy. My only missing feature at present is the Tabs feature--it's incredibly useful to have scriptures open in one tab, lesson in another, Ensign in another, etc.
Thank you so much for continuing to develop for this platform!

have installed app but it will not download anything.

I'm glad to see that they have not forgotten Windows, but they really need to have an LDS Tools app even if it's a Beta.
12 April 2015
Finally there is a windows 8 scripture app that you can mark the scriptures the same way pen would in the old paper version. Thank you and please keep this app. available. Hopefully there are plans to allow the user to link scriptures.

I love what they are doing with this app. Looking good and working pretty well. Now I can add notes. This app is great.
I wish there was a download everything option. Space really isn't an issue on my desktop or Surface.
30 March 2015
The notebook\journal tools didn't work for me on the surface pro 3. It also seemed like the touch input needs some polish.
Edit: The touch issue was fixed by rebooting my computer. The Journal stuff is a wip apparently so I won't be so harsh on the review (it is a beta after-all). *changed it from 3 stars to 4*

This version is better than the android or ios. I love the fact that notes are in-line with the text rather then in the "footnote" area. I really like that when you click on a link, it highlights it and then disappears. Bookmarks work very well. The history feature is very helpful. I'm still Waiting on the tab feature to appear. Thank you for the "inspirational messages" section.
Good work on this app! I'm really impressed.

Please roll out these improvements to the normal Gospel Library for windows. It is great to be able to listen to talks and the scriptures. I still want to be able to watch videos.

Definitely a work making good progress. Thank you, developers, for creating this.
I like that the circle menu for marking matches OneNote. Please keep up the work on this. It is difficult to remove a highlighting. I love the preview function of using the pen to mark scriptures.
Also, when clicking a search result, it takes me to the chapter, but doesn't show me where the item I searched for is located.

The best book of this message to confirm the truth that God is our father and he did send his only begotten son to die for our sins.
11 February 2015
This is very generous of the Church to provide all of this material to the world free of charge.
Thanks,

This was a fantastic app when it worked. After the last couple of updates the app crashes on startup with my Nokia Lumina 2520. I love the design of the new app and until this past month the app worked without any issues on my Nokia Lumina 2520 but it won't load now.

This version is so much better than previous version, but lacks the features of IOS or Android. Looking forward to continue improvement. Thanks for all the effort being made. I look forward to adding notes to the scriptures.

Thank you for developing such a wonderful app! I have always used my iPad Air for this app, but have now switched to a Surface Pro 3 because of the ability to pinch and zoom with text size (something I can't do with the iPad). The development team for this app deserves a huge THANK YOU for such thoughtful consideration of this app's features. Well done! I look forward to continued updates. Thanks again for making the experience on a Windows device so positive.

Great strides towards bridging the gap between IOs and Windows. Hope to see equally great strides on the phone release.
