The app is 100% intuitive. No tutorial necessary. It was exactly what I wanted- maximum productivity / minimum learning curve.

What a mess
5 October 2015
Been looking for simple tool to create and maintain mind maps. Tried a few tools including one note which I like a lot. However if you want to quickly create graphs of your wonderful ideas without having to spend a fortune and have a bunch of features that are frankly a waist of time then get this tool.
Ok there are a few things that you should be aware of:
1. The UI is not completely intuitive.
2. Help docs are lacking/missing.
3. Home page needs to be easier to understand. Took me 15 minutes to figure out how to rename a mind map. (Press and hold map then pull down to select it. Options to rename will appear at the bottom)
Having said that once you get to know how the UI works it is very easy to create a mind map. It still gets 5 star.

Creates a project-style outline from my spatial Brain Dump doodles. This app is the missing link from my entire productivity process because my brain is constantly firing off synapses, yet I also prefer to organize linearly after scribbling my ideas out over a period of days for integration with Outlook Task Manager & forward planning. BRAVO!!!

Windows Version really needs work!! No printing, no Help, exports only to OneDrive available in app, indents one way only, and the Diagram format has no structure. You have to manually manipulate the diagram, is really useless if you want to write a quick outline and then use it unless you do it in the laptop. I am very disappointed...a waste of time indeed.

Nice product but having trouble printing
22 April 2015
works good

works great. fairly easy to use. just lacks bi-directional arrows. not sure how to print my concept map after i have made it, so i've just screenshot-ed it and pasted into microsoft word to print.

very simple app. creating nodes is easy.
can move nodes.
very logical and effective side menus.
cons;
text area is not usefull. to hide and Show it , should have to open right side menü.
ones you are created nodes cannot move it other nodes as subnode.
I dont find any way to create dubble relation into one node
but it is cheap. can buy.

I tried so many of the apps on here and it was finally between this app and Knowledge Builder (KB). KB was good, but very slow. Idea Sketch simply had more plusses.
1) It's a universal app, available on WP and Windows 8.1.
2) Create a tree from scratch, from a pic, from a document, from a webpage...it's endless.
3) View as an outline at the touch of a button.
4) The ways to export are virtually endless.
5) Very fast.
6) Fairly intuitive.
There were only a few things that I would love to see changed.
1) Labeling connections between things.
2) The ability to Rename the map from inside the Map.
3) True "live" syncing between the WP app and W8.1 app.
That's it, it truly is, in my opinion, the best app that is available by a long shot. Enjoy it. :)

This app is really cool and is a must buy for all those looking for a quick way to organize. I am using this app to organize the dreams that I am having that the Lord JESUS Christ is giving me. GOD speaks to us often through our dreams. Check this out to see why starting a dream diary is very important in understanding what GOD is saying to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPUmZwKmjXM

Nothing can beat this app at this price point.

I like the fact it is available for win 8, phone and iOS - so I can share documents with friends on iOS. And I like that its possible to add nodes that don't connect with others, unlike many other mindmaps. Worth $2.99

So intuitive!

I love this app! It's great for storyboarding and drawing out ideas for stories and branching paths (I use it as a GM for various tabletop games). My only complaint is that it's hard to use a standard color and shape for items. I can't tie a shape to a color, so I change both of them, which is a little cumbersome. But it's great otherwise! Definitely worth the money!
30 May 2014
what a great app, wish it had a few more shapes, but over all I love it!
Out of all the mind maps I've looked at and tried, this one seemed the best to use in organizing thoughts and ideas, being able to freely move things around and connect them (or disconnect) to different parts. And being an artist who likes to draw comics, it's nice to make a quick sketch in it as well. However, it isn't all that perfect unfortunately.
For me, the lack of a tutorial made it a little frustrating in trying to figure out some basic things in Windows 8.1 such as naming your map, deleting, and moving the map to different folders. Not only that, but after finding out, by chance, how to name it (since it doesn't give choice to name right when you make a new one), every time the keyboard came up, the file went straight out of sight so I had to type it in blindly. Then have to go back and do again since I couldn't see it didn't automatically take out "Untitled" for the title.
There are things I wish for them to make and improve, but I'm limited in what I can write here.
28 April 2014
This app is clunky. Not recommended.
13 April 2014
Contains adequate attributes to get you going. Love the switching between outline and diagram.
1 March 2014
Works really well! Take the time to read the Tutorial and HELP material first. Would like more transparent OneDrive sync and more complete tools in Outline mode. Ability to import/export from Xmind, Freemind would be icing on the cake. But a lovely, intuitive app that's loads of fun to use. Works well with Windows Phone version, too!
26 February 2014
Updating my review now that the developer has worked out a lot of the issues I had! Great outlining app. A Surface staple.
6 February 2014
在 RT 上使用也很流畅。在触摸屏上非常好用。
30 January 2014
Hello everyone! Be sure to upgrade to Windows 8.1 so that you can get the latest version of Idea Sketch. Regarding some of the recent reviews:
(1) The next update automatically deselects shapes after editing them to make editing faster and easier,
(2) To move multiple shapes at once in a diagram, select each shape (by tapping-and-holding each one until it has a blue border) and then when you drag one they all will move together.
As always, email us at hello@nosleep.net anytime you have a question or problem. Thanks!

App is not very intuitive. Apps should be simple to use and this one is not one of them. On Android I had simpler apps and this one just needs a little more tweaking.

I'm a long-time user of brain mapping software. I have used the leading PC tools, e.g. Mind Manager, MindMapper, etc., as well as trying every brain mapping app for Windows Phone and Win 8 & RT. Idea Sketch is the only app that works across all my devices (Win 8 laptop, Surface, Win Phone) and that I am comfortable with entrusting my thoughts & plans. I don't spend the money for apps on all my devices unless the app works well, is visually appealing, and isn't buggy. Idea Sketch is worth purchasing. I use it nearly every day, recommend it often, and hope the Windows community continues to support Idea Sketch and the developer, who is also responsive and truthful. Prior to Christmas, I asked about a feature not yet present in the phone version. The developer responded quickly to let me know the feature would be present after New Year's; that feature showed up after New Year's just as the developer said. That's a product and developer worth supporting.

The outline concept is a killer idea. This is the only touch friendly mind mapping app I can find with outlines. However, it is very cumbersome to edit the text in the outlines and to move item relationships around. Fix text and item manipulation in outlines and this app is a four. Make it smoother to work in the diagram mode and this app is a 5. The fact that you always have to go back and click on the item that you just clicked on to take away focus is not intuitive. Looking forward to future updates…. Hopefully before the trial runs out.
