This app is simple, easy to use, effective, and best of all: free. It doesn't have to be running in the background for your alarm to go off, it will automatically run when the time comes for it to. This is a great application. Using mine on a desktop where I spend most of the time in the Desktop environment, and I still get a notification with sound as I should. Great app, thanks! Update 9/12/13: Still the best and one of first Windows 8 Alarms since the very beginning!
