Haven't gotten far into the material yet. Under Basics (the very first icon), I'm having trouble with the app crashing when it gets to certain pages of the quizzes. Trying to do fruits and vegetables now. It's interesting that the Chinese word for orange is apfelsine. Pretty sure that's German. Also, the audio is tinny on the sibilant sounds. I was attributing the strange sounds to the fact that Chinese is difficult for western ears, but when I later took a spoken English to written Chinese multiple-choice quiz, I found that even the English was tinny enough that it was sometimes difficult to understand what was being said. And be advised that the multiple choice quizzes are pretty easy. For instance, on a 100 question quiz, by question 35, the 3 incorrect choices are exactly the same. This means I usually get at least 75 percent correct, which is an A for this app. Maybe I should give my students test like that. Feelin' good!

For someone's who's interested in learning the language this app would help significantly. It is a great start with the basic to more advance lessons for a decent price. Learn, practice, and if fortunate enough seek a fluent speaker to see how far your skills have developed.
