Purchases at Microsoft are non-refundable. All I wanted was simple word processing -- especially spell check and simple document retrieval -- this program makes that difficult! I'll limit my criticism because it would take 1/2 an hour to explain how I just spend the last hour trying to figure out how to do the 2 basic functions mentioned above. All I wanted this for was journaling so I cannot imagine a student or office worker using this to be productive. Look elsewhere!

The best word processor used that covers all my immediate needs at less than a fraction of the cost. MWP handles everything I throw at it and does it without a complicated training curve. Thanks guys and keep up the good work.

Tab key does not space equally throughout tab presses on different lines.

Recently, a windows system update (March 12, 2015) broke my app. I'm happy to report that the problem has been fixed and there is no more problem. Please update to version 6.1.x.x.

I have been working with my documents using this app. Its quality is pretty high and the programmer has been very helpful to my questions.

But does not have as many options as MS Word.

I'm not sure why this app doesn't get more press. It is a very functional writing app that has most of the options that one would find in a desktop word processor.

I'm happy with the purchase.

I decided to buy this app after having tried it out for about 5 days. It does what the app description says. It's more advance than all the other writing apps in the store. The reason I'm giving it a 4 star instead of 5 is it is not as advance as MS Word. Other than that, it works well.

This semester, I've written all my English papers with this app. The auto save feature works great, giving me the peace of mind. I really can't think of anything negative about this app.

Bought this app so my wife and I can use on our laptop we just bought. So far so good. We are glad we found this app. It does everything we need and works perfectly.

After having used this app for 3 months now, it still runs great. There's been tons of updates. I like it a lot.

I bought this app last month. Last week, the app stopped working. I emailed the programmer and promptly got an answer. He said the recent windows update was incompatible with this app. He also said he was working hard to fix it. A couple days later, he came out with an update and it fixed the problem. I'm very impressed with how fast the programmer responded to my email and how fast he worked to solve this problem.

This app worked fine for a couple weeks, and now nothing. It will open, but whenever I begin typing, the app restarts and kicks me back to metro mode. None of the support links (the one in the app, or the link here in the store) are working, so as of now, this app is completely useless. Be careful before you spend money on this product.

I had problem figuring out something and I emailed Metro Word and promptly received a response that corrected the situation.

Atrocious app. Gave it an honest chance. Installed it on both my pc and laptop. Here were my issues; Decoded some word documents by inserting Chinese letters (specifically with 's words.) Would not open larger documents, blank screen. Saved files, when attempted to re-open deleted all of my content, which was infuriating with one of my big projects. Lost everything even when autosave was turned on. Processing very slow, prepare to spend an extra 75% of time on every project waiting for the application. Small menu button didn't adapt to typing location, frequently blocking the view of your sentence. Default save setting was in html. Cant change many default settings actually. Menu and editing options not really user friendly. There's a reason this is 1/10 the cost of MS word. Its about 1/10 the product. 5 star ratings are unbelievable

This app is pretty good. I have been typing my papers for my classes using this app. It's not as sophisticated as Microsoft Office, but I don't think it was intended to be.

Cheap alternative to office word. Just as functional.

Good for writing essay.

I have been using this app for more than a month. I really like the UI design. What I'm really impressed with is how fast the developer responded to my request. I asked him to make the inserted image not go off the screen if it is wider or higher than the page. He responded in the same day saying he would send out an update for this right away. And sure enough, The following day there was an update that fixed this issue. Now, when I insert an image bigger than the page, the image resize itself to fit the page.

This app is functional enough for writing essays and taking notes in class. I've written 2 papers with this app. What I really like is I could email the paper to my professor from within this app. With other apps, I had to save to a file, then use the mail app to attach the saved file and email it. This app allows you to so it automatically.

To date this charming tool has failed to save my work on two separate occasions despite reporting "file saved", this presumably related to importing from real Word DOC format... Not amused and reverting to desktop applications. Very much in the spirit of Windows 8, a disappointment...

Top menu keeps disappearing, app crashes every time I close a document. Takes a long time to open, and a longer time to open a doc. Asks me if I want to save a doc when I try to close it, even though I just clicked save. And when you click save, it doesn't close. Click close, and it asks you AGAIN if you want to save. The only way out of this loop is to click Don't Save, and then the app crashes. What a waste of 10 bucks.

I find this program to be every bit as functional as the more expensive word program and I regret I didn't find Modern Word before I purchased the other program!

The only thing I would like to see added is a word count.

The application is very basic but useful. My only complaint is the editing tool that follows your curser around the page. It gets in the way. Otherwise a decent application.

I have the theme set to side tabs and the color to purple. This makes the app beautiful every time I use it. I really like the creative UI options in this app. This app is simple to use. Everything seems intuitive enough. I really like how the app gives us a variety of tools to use and a variety of text formatting options to choose from. This app can be as simple or sophisticated as you want.

I'm an independent short story writer. My husband recently bought me a Surface Pro 3. Before with a laptop, I always used Microsoft Office. With this new tablet, I thought I would try something else more touch oriented. I looked in the store to find a writing app that I could easily use with my new computer. There really aren't that many options for a good writing tool. I really like the following features in this app: (1) The ability to auto save. My work are important. (2) Must have spell checker. Saves me time. (3) Be able to save multiple formats. Some people I send my work to want different formats. (4) Be able to save to a PDF file that are word selectable. This app's exported PDF files are word searchable. (5) Have styles. This may seem nitpicky, but being able to quickly make a line or paragraph a certain style is a time saver. I want to list more but the review only allow so many characters. In short, this is a good writing tool for a touch device.
