This app works good in Windows rt and this is too one of good media player apps on Android .

your app overall is good but many of the complaints I see here are from impatient people it does hang on the splash screen. but give it a few seconds to up to a minuet and it will load. once loaded it works flawless. I imagine the load hang is caused by an extensive search for media cause it found videos I had lost and could not find myself. what I do miss about mx for android is the subtitle function and the ability to search for them that is in mx android. my wife is deaf so I generally have to watch all videos with cc for her.

I love the Android version and I do agree it's the best video player. The Windows version, however, is TRASH. It doesn't work at all, cannot add folders, crashes every time I try to add a folder and I simply cannot add the folder or watch a video!
I tried to uninstall and install it again to no avail. It still refuses to add new folders and obviously does not have the automatic scanning function as in Android!
Spent more than half an hour racking my brains and it still cannot work!

hi, i'm using this app on laptop... what i like is i can browse net or file explorer by just splitting my screen into two part that's not it other app available in store can also do that BUT they CAN'T stretch or crop videos.
Drawbacks are cant add folder it gonna crash every time. cant play in background. slow response , STUPID BIG NAVIGATION KEY, cant recognize your PREFERANCE, well what can you expect with 1mb app. great work .....

I have been using MX Player since long it is working great on my android 5.0 but on my laptop it is just showing the logo and crashes can't play videos on it fix this bug and I'll rate it 5 stars!

MX Player for Android is one of the best video players I've come across and the notes say they are working on getting the W8 version on par with it. Right now it's at least as good as the video player that comes with W8 and probably a tad better but not as deep with settings and functionality as its Android cousin. It didn't pick on embedded subs in my mp4 video though the Droid version did. But I'll stick with it and see how the updates turn out.

wont load videos even after you put videos in video folder. It is a shame it is so broken and does not work in windows but runs perfect on my nexus 7?

I use MX player on Android so I was happy to see it for Windows 8. It seems that it is a very limited port however, since it won't play all the same formats as its mobile version. It's free, no pro version like on mobile so its acceptably useless, but media player is also free and it plays every format thanks to K-lite so there's no point in using this.
