This app works instrumentally across any platform, including ios (app in app store). Notes sync almost instantaneously, and the interface on all devices is clean and beautiful. I am honestly perplexed. I thought I was an Apple advocate, but it appears as though Microsoft is getting their stuff together. If this trend continues, I may have to migrate my digital life over to the Microsoft ecosystem. Keep up the good work, MS.

1. Please stop the virtual keyboard from popping up so much. Often it will pop up when I am resting my palm or just point at something. Give me option so that keyboard does not come up unless I double tap blank space or select a text region.
2. Anyway to get quick thumnail view of all note pages in section, kind of like you do when you are in Reader? I want a quick visual view of how my notes are fitting together so I can get more context. I dont need to group pages or move in thumnail
28 March 2013
Currently there is no way to write on the notes with colors other than black, like it has in the full desktop version. Otherwise very pretty and easy to maneuver.
Update: Pen color added, super happy!
11 December 2013
Finally love to use OneNote. Nice pen support on Surface Pro.
9 November 2014
This app works great for mobile platform (android app and Microsoft app). It syncs well and provides many option for a touch based interface (especially writing via pen). However, this app struggles in comparison to the full OneNote 2013 desktop application. OneNote 2013 has great insert abilities that the app falls short on: printout files in ppts, audio/video recordings, automatic day and time insertion).
9 January 2015
I did not initially like this app, I had a Toshiba satellite touchscreen regular laptop. But then I switched to a Toshiba radius, which is similar to a leveno yoga or a surface pro. It works FANTASTIC with it. I take notes in class with typing, but the touchscreen makes it so easy and all the tools like font color, bolding and highlighting make it really fun to make, look at and organize. It makes me want to look back on my notes and revise them later, and I do, making them more organized. If you have a touchscreen laptop and you struggle with making notes interesting or organized, I 100% recommend.
6 November 2014
Syncing all my notes takes a long time and many pages still don't appear. It says "Hang on while we get your notes..." The update didn't solve the problem
25 January 2013
Writing this now using the stylus, amazed that it can Keep up with my writing without a lag and with minimal typos. This is a truly unique app, it is best-in-class!
12 January 2015
I installed Microsoft Office 2013 on my new Surface Pro 3 (both are Microsoft's greatest recent achievements; both AWESOME products). However I am a little confused because the version of OneNote 2013 I am running does not appear to be the "full fledged version" like the 2010 OneNote we use at work, which is Win 7/OneNote 2010 Professional. One major difference is: at work I can create "Section Groups". The version of OneNote I am running on this my personally owned tablet running Win 8.1 & Office 2013 - which we are allowed to purchase thru work for $10; another smart move Microsoft! - does not allow me to create Section Groups. When I go to settings -> "License" it says "This version of OneNote is currently free," which makes me think I might not be running "full" paid OneNote 2013. Is that true and if so how do I enable the one I paid for? I checked to ensure that the license included OneNote 2013 because I am a huge OneNote Fan! Gregg Olson 770-853-5438 gregg.olson@lmco.com.

App keeps crashing, or more appropriately, it closes and launches again. If you have a notebook that requires you to login (and doesn't keep the credentials - my work notebook), you have to login each time this happens.
Most noticeable when switching to another app and returning to OneNote.
21 June 2014
This program represents an unparalleled ability to use your computer to enhance your life and extend your ability to organize your life. Try it and see, and don't miss out on the pen capabilities. My favorite thing to do is to trace screenshots. If you ever need an icon you can just do this -- capture photo or picture-- trace and customize with pens-- then cut picture leaving your drawing there.
17 May 2014
..great features and design (dial menu, Skydrive integration, search..) Please add support for screen clipping in the Touch/Modern app. Thanks for including a a way to access the most visited pages in the ca. 8.1 update. Also, make the search function highlight and display the text searched in the relevant note, as in the PC version, not just stop at the relevant note. Finally, at times the app lags after opening a searched document. Overall, excellent, v. useful for touch devices.
20 August 2014
Not that impressed with the WinRT version even still. The WinRT app version of OneNote STILL doesn’t do any handwriting recognition / indexing for searching.
(Desktop) OneNote is an amazing program, far better than this one. It works great with touch and tablets (especially if you turn on fullscreen view). This app version, on the other hand, rips out all of the unique functionality, leaving you with something bland and nearly useless. And of course, that basic functionality missing is on top of the more advanced stuff that is missing like video or audio recording (also tied to your notes so you can follow along in both at the same time).
Also, I'd love to be able to turn off the author name and 'show unread changes' in this version like I can on the desktop too.
Can't change the line spacing on paper-like background.
17 July 2014
I just got a surface pro 3 and am constantly changing notebooks with my palm when trying to write. I don't see anyway to move the page list to the right side of the screen. Can this please be added?
16 January 2013
Very easy to navigate however I can't draw/sketch anything. A glitch to fix perhaps?
15 January 2015
The app will constantly crash and frustrate me as I'm in the middle of something and just automatically am cut short. Please fix this problem! #gofornocrash
2 October 2014
I think it is fantastically innovative what they did with the tool bars – they turned it into a small icon that follows your cursor input around that, if needed, then turns into an interactive circle with the actual tools you can use at that spot!
The layout also looks cleaner and more organized than the desktop version.
The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it's called OneNote, but you can't handwrite notes with it... it recognizes handwriting motions very poorly. They could do much better. Also, when in drawing mode we can't pan or zoom (regardless of the settings you use) - for both these points just compare it with Bamboo Paper. Please! Please, fix it...
17 May 2013
As a mathematics student/teacher, I never thought I would ever be the guy to take notes on my computer. But OneNote MX has made it such that I never use paper anymore....not even handouts from professors, I just take a quick picture from within the app and give the paper back...
Obviously this app for touch screen interfaces, if you don't have that capability, I highly recommend sticking with the desktop version.
21 June 2014
I like this version. It is great for a full screen experience, and does a great job accomplishing all of the core tasks one would do in the full desktop version of OneNote. This is my go to app for notetaking on my Surface Pro 3. I do wish that Highlighters were added as a marking option. Other than that everything I need is here. Great app!
18 May 2015
I am an engineering student and have been using the iPad to take all my notes until I picked up a Surface Pro 3... I now take all my notes using OneNote... The one key feature I feel it's missing is page breaks. It makes it very difficult to print out notes I have made for my instructors and classmates. OneNote has completely replaced my need for my iPad in school. Update: Not having page breaks makes it more cumbersome to develop notes however something else that has been bothering me is the lack of multipage view after customizing the page to 8.5 X 11. This forces me to have to print out all my notes.
25 February 2014
I love this app, it's normally 5 starts but I want to get the OneNote team's attention. Recently the team that works on this app decided to change randomly change the default Rule Line spacing... for some reason... and it is a bigger line spacing (I guess I would say it used to be like it was college ruled and now it's like it is wide ruled?). If you're going to do such a questionable thing like randomly change the default rule line spacing that's been like that for over a year on this app, then PLEASE add the option to switch between different rule lines instead of having to go into the Office version of OneNote and doing it there. Besides that I'm liking the recent updates! Thanks!
29 July 2013
1-Please put an option to cancel the pressure sensitivity. This makes writing so difficult with my stylus pen.
2-Can we have pages that are 'letter' size?
3- Why don't we have different sizes for the eraser?
4- Whenever I touch the screen while writing the screen either moves, or the menu from the bottom pops up. An option that totally implements palm rejection would be great.
10 April 2013
What's the point of notes if you can't print them!!!
1 August 2012
This app represents everything I wanted from a Metro OneNote experience and so very much more. My only real concern is that the rest of Office 15 is not yet available in such an equally beautiful experience!
8 September 2014
Good and definitely tailored for the touch experience. A few issues that keep it from being great:
1. Feature set is lacking compared to desktop version.
2. Really, really, really needs a way to disable the keyboard. It is incredibly annoying when trying to write out notes.
3. The pen menu needs to detect when you're writing approaches it and needs to get out of the way!
4. Please, please, please provide a way to hide the page previews, and show to show just the page title. My headers are detailed enough... it's very annoying trying to look through 500 pages of previews.
29 December 2012
I left Evernote and BaseCamp for this and have never looked back!
25 March 2013
most people who need this for school or work need the audio recording function found in regular onenote, however this is more of a light version.
4 January 2013
There should be way (or at least a more obvious way) to delete a notebook. Having accidentally added several notebooks I am now unable to get rid of them. This makes my OneNote experience unorganized.
13 January 2015
I just keep discovering even more options in that pretty clever option wheel that basically takes the place of the Office Ribbon fairly effectively! It will do in a pinch but I'm pretty sure some preferences can be added to the settings so we can select some other options to closer match to the desktop version... you know, those leftover options we don't have at the moment. Also, not sure if its my network but I think it could sync a bit quicker..?
24 December 2014
and is getting better every day.
Please allow the pages to zoom in and out more - more like the desktop version is doing it.
It would be nice if I can pin pages to the star menu or taskbar, just like on the phone.
