0. Doesn't do anything, doesn't update My Channels. The suggestion from support was to uninstall and reinstall. There is no uninstall command on the Roku settings - shame, shame! And shame on the rating system for not allowing a 0 rating!

ROKU is undoubtedly a device for those of us who don't want to spend hours configuring databases and searching out streaming media. My one complaint is the statement that Roku cannot stream media to one's PC because it is not a "media server." When Roku is streaming media to my decent Samsung LED TV and high end surround sound processor via HDMI, is it a client? This is a bogus argument vis a vis Roku not "serving" media to PC's. It is digital information: that's all. It could as easily be streamed over an Ethernet cable, a high speed wifi connection or some other means to any number of devices such as tablets (I have 2), phones (many) and not just TV sets. With so many of us using digital media on our PC's it makes no sense the best Roku can do is allow us to use our PC's as expensive remote controls. So, Roku development, get off the stick and code a Roku PC/Android player and I'll give you 5 stars. A glorified remote is not deserving of 5 stars.

Could be dependent upon the wireless modem whether app will work or not.. With Medialink wireless N router I could never get app to work.. Would not work on android nor windows phones. Once we used Cinci Bell Fioptics wireless router app works perfectly on both android and windows phones.. We lost our Roku remote..

it's great with in the app and its channels. I do not like that you are offered more for payment stations. When I bought this it was to avoid more monthly bills not more. I have not been able to cast a DVD from lap top. That I am very disappointed about. If you can continue to afford to pay theater cost to stay at home its a great APP or Streaming Stic.

I am glad Roku supports the Windows Store. The only thin only thing I'd like to see is a minor detail: I'd like it if minimizing the app minimized both the remote and channel sections at once, not independently.

I like the app,but it would be nice if you could switch between devices. Others have also noted that the app won't work on occasion and that is true. You have to simply remove and reinstall the app to fix this. All in all a better app then the unofficial ones for pcs,but could still use some improvements.

I have to uninstall and reinstall this every other day in order for it to work. The remote just plain does not load and I don't know why

You can type from your computer with the app! Much better than using the remote to type text.

It would seem a little awkward o control your Roku from your laptop or PC but the idea of being able to send pictures and music from your laptop to your Roki is what interested me here. The Good: Sending pictures works gdecent remote control of your roku is also good adding channels from the channel store The Bad sending musioc from your laptop to the Roku just doesn't seem to work. No sending videos from your laptop its much easier to accomplish all these taks with your phone or tablet. So the app here falls a little short of hitting the mark as playing a vast amount of music stored on your laptop to your roku as a streaming music system falls short and that is what I was really hoping for here.

Have not been able to get this app to open so really can't rate it , because I can't use it!

After further review, I was able to find the manual I.P. setup for this software. It is integrated into the Windows 8.1 settings option. I need this function since I have more than 1 Roku device in the home. The fastest way to change I.P. addresses is to utilize Roku's app manual selection. I also use the Android operating system on another device. I find it much easier to utilize the manual I.P. change option. The setting is more directly tied to the app.

UPDATE: 6 months and still not working! Every time I open this app and click on remote, sometimes does it when I open the app, it opens on another window?? Why is control on a different screen instead of a fly-out. I like the app and works fine with my Roku box but this is annoying and a bother to have to snap the main screen and the remote both side by side. They certainly should be on the same window!!!

INSTALLED TO TEMP REPLACE BROKEN REMOTE. IT INSTANTLY BLOCKED ALL THE COMPPUTERS AND CELLPHONES IN THE HOUSE FROM ACCESSING THE WIFI. ONLY AFTER UNINSTALLING THE APP WAS I ABLE TO RECONFIGURE AND RECONNECT ALL MY DEVISES TO THE WIFI IT ALSO DISABLED PASSWORD GIVING THE THE WHOLE DARN NEIGHBORHOOD ACCESS TO OUR NETWORK. NOT HAPPY WITHTHIS APP AT ALL. INSTALLER BEWARE......
