Voxofon is a free international texting and calling application available for Windows 8, Windows Phone, and other smartphones. Chat with the Voxofon users for free from any computer or a smartphone. Use low-cost SMS messaging to chat with your friends with regular mobile phones. Directly from the app, you can setup international calls between your phone and the destination abroad at great rates starting from 1 US cent per minute. Can't believe I even thought about buying this app. Makes me mad when it says free, but ain't free. You've gotta buy all this credit and it irritates you when keeps on asking for money.

some of my family and friends do not do Skype or twitter . some of them do not even know how to turn on a computer, let alone how to use one. but all of them have cell phones and can text so wanted an app for my laptop so I could text them from it when I wanted or needed to . tried couple of them and all of them are trash ,do not waste time on this app.
